Step-by-step: Starting up your Trezor

Connect
Plug your Trezor into a USB port on your computer or to a compatible mobile device. Wait for the device to power on — you'll see a welcome message on the device screen.

Visit Trezor.io/Start®
Open your browser and navigate to trezor.io/start. Follow the official steps to install the firmware and the Trezor Suite if prompted. This page is a textual companion and intentionally avoids external images.

Create a backup
Write down the recovery seed exactly as shown by the device and store it in a secure, offline location. Do not store the full seed on a connected device or in cloud storage.

Set a PIN
Choose a PIN that is memorable for you and not easily guessed. This protects your device from physical access attacks.

Confirm and finish
Follow on-screen prompts to verify your setup. Your Trezor is now ready to use with wallets and services that support hardware devices.

- Never share your recovery seed with anyone; Trezor staff will never ask for it.
- Keep firmware updated and verify any software you install.
